“San Dai Shi Guang” (Three Ages) is a nostalgic drama with a bright tone, tender and with touches of humor, which narrates Xiaowei’s journey, from his arrival, at the age of 7, to Barcelona in 1992, until his departure, at the age of 23, after the economic crisis of 2008. It is a story with autobiographical elements, where its director, Jiajie Yu Yan, portrays the different generations of women in her family, and shows the evolution of Spanish society through over 20 years.

Jiajie (1998) was born in Barcelona to Chinese parents. He graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Ramón Llull University and did a Master’s Degree in Screenwriting and Film Direction at the Bande à Part film school.
He combines his work as a director of advertising and video clips with that of a teacher at the Tai School of Arts. He has written and directed six short films that have been selected and awarded at many international festivals. It is worth noting the nomination for the Goya 2020 awards that he achieved with his fiction short film Xiao Xian.
His first feature film, San Dai Shi Guang (Three Ages), was part of the Film Academy Residency program, supervised by Carla Simón and Coral Cruz, and was selected in the first edition of the Film Academy Summer Campus. His second feature film, San Dai Tong Tang (Three generations under the same roof), is part of the Cambio de Plano development program organized by DAMA and NETFLIX, supervised by Valentina Viso. He is currently developing a fiction series for Morena Films that was selected for Conecta Fiction 2020.
Jiajie Yu is part of the first edition of Spain Stars of Tomorrow of the prestigious British film magazine Screen International, chosen as one of the 10 emerging talents with the greatest international projection.
